Schools will soon be closing for the summer but a range of child-friendly facilities and services will keep them occupied at the collection of luxury Corinthia Hotels around the world.
Heated indoor pools, sunny outdoor pools, kids clubs, child-friendly restaurant menus, free in-room wifi, a water sports centre, babysitting services and in-room goodies are among the facilities that will help keep parents sane over the long school summer holidays.
“Family travel is a growing part of our business and we strive to keep all members of the family happy during their stay,” says Matthew Dixon, Commercial Director of the Corinthia Hotels.
Below is a round-up of the facilities and services available to families at eight Corinthia Hotels and details of family-specific packages at two properties, in Lisbon and London:
Corinthia Hotel Budapest
Families checking into this hotel in Deluxe rooms have the bonus of free access to the Royal Spa*, rooms that include LCD HD TVs with 50-plus local and international channels and a choice of 40 films, and a 24-hour kids’ menu for in-room meals which include pasta, cheeseburgers, popcorn and nachos.
*Children under 16 enjoy daily access to the spa between 11am-3pm and must be accompanied by an adult.
Corinthia Hotel Khartoum
Family-friendly guest rooms are spacious and include a sofa, wifi access and a TV with a selection of 40 channels. There are six restaurants and cafes to choose between and tennis and squash courts and the extensive, award-winning Sabratha Spa & Fitness Centre to languish in.
Corinthia Hotel Lisbon
Kids under 12 stay free in the hotel’s interconnecting Family Rooms. The spacious pair of rooms come complete with kingsize bed and twin beds, a rollout fourth bed and two bathrooms. LCD HD TVs have 75-plus local and international channels, a choice of 40 films and complimentary wifi. The hotel is easy walking distance to Jardim Zoologico – Lisbon Zoo – where children can see dolphins, snakes, gorillas and chimpanzees and take a ride in the Zoo train. The hotel offers discounts on the entry fee to the zoo, Lisbon Aquarium and to the Gulbenkian Museum.
The hotel’s award-winning spa is children-friendly with a selection of spa treatments for younger guests aged 4-12, including manicures, pedicures, facials and foot, back and head massage.
Furthermore, the hotel has a family-friendly offer available. Called Bring the Kids Along, the package includes two interconnecting rooms, buffet breakfast, one in-room complimentary family movie, mouth-watering cookies and hot milk for the children before bedtime and early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability). Corinthia Hotel London
The Northall restaurant and the in-room menu have kids’ menus that include staples such as egg and soldiers, macaroni cheese, burgers, chocolate brownies, milkshakes and strawberry and marshmallow sundae.
Children can use up their energy in the hotel pool inside ESPA Life at Corinthia at certain hours (as long as they are accompanied by an adult), while there is a Family Friendly Package for two adults and two children up to age 16 that includes a second bedroom connected or nearby, English breakfast, chilled Laurent-Perrier Champagne on arrival (for the parents!), a video games console in the children’s room, children’s gifts on arrival, access to the BodySPace gym for parents, babysitting services (at an additional fee), complimentary wifi throughout the hotel and an All Day Hop On, Hop Off River Thames ticket valid for two adults and up to three children.

Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, Malta

Corinthia Hotel Prague
Families staying in Corinthia Hotel Prague will relax as soon as they enter the doors of the hotel. Children have special dining seats in the hotel’s four restaurants, a range of baby cots to help settle the really little ones, and baby carriages for those that require them.
Inter-c0nnecting rooms are available while all rooms have LCD HD TVs with 75-plus local and international channels so children can catch up on their favourite children’s TV programmes.
There is an indoor swimming pool, if you can tear the children away from the TV (children under 18 can use the pool between 11am-3pm daily but must be accompanied by an adult), and there is free wifi throughout the hotel.
Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, Malta
As a large resort hotel, Corinthia St George’s Bay is the perfect base for families. With five pools – including a quiet children’s-only pool away from the main lido area – a watersports centre and access to ten restaurants, the hotel offers plenty of escape for both parents and children. These include Henry J Bean’s all-American bar and grill for great burgers, for example.
Moreover, St George’s Bay provides a free Kids Club in July and August. Families can book their children (aged 3-12 years) into the hotel’s Kids Club, open daily from 10am-1pm.
Parents can also book children into the Apollo Day Spa for a selection of facials, massage, manicure and pedicure treatments geared to children aged eight and above.
And from this month (June), children aged eight upwards can take advantage of weekly trial dives every Thursday morning.
Three categories of spacious guest bedrooms – all with private balcony and two double beds – are geared to families: Deluxe Sea View Family, Superior Family and Executive Sea View Family.
The hotel is a short walk away from the bars, clubs and restaurants of Paceville for those families with teenagers and young adults.
Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg
Spacious Grand Deluxe rooms and all hotel suites are perfect for families, having plenty of room for manoeuvre, while LCD screens have over 70 channels to surf. Baby cots come free of charge, children under six stay free of charge in their parent’s room and breakfast for the little ones comes complimentary.
Furthermore, there are children’s menus in both the Café Vienna and Imperial restaurants, while children of VIP guests receive various goodies on arrival, depending on their age. Those aged 2-12 years old receive their own bathrobe and slippers, an album for drawing, a set of pencils and teddy bear. Tiny tots (aged between 0-2 years old), are given special baby toiletries from the specialist Bubchen brand.
